Dear Kathy, I just wanted to send you a quick note to say a heartfelt "Thank You" for your help in selling my land in such a short time. Without your incredible patience, "boots on the ground", profound knowledge of local terrain, laws, community and people I would not even have been able to list the property, let alone trying to sell it! So, thank you again for your invaluable advice and guidance - and to anyone trying to buy or sell property in "these here mountains", there is no need to look anywhere else - call Kathy at Country Places Realty! Usula, Madison County
Dear Kathy, I am writing to tell you how the waves of gratitude for all the help you gave me buying my farmhouse and barn have filled my heart with appreciateion for you and your knowledge of the area and how to do some improvements that have made all the difference in the world. The suggestion of a woodstove and a mudroom was brilliant and I have had my son-in-law put those in for me. I love the fabulous views I have and really love the sounds of the stream which I can hear from my deck. Your suggestions of who toc all for what; whether it be the pest control man, the home inspector, the water/gravel man have been invaluable as I move into the community of Madison County and get to know who to call locally for what I need. Thank you for holding my hand as a first time home buyer and the time you took to explain it all to me and sharing your love of the area and the people who live here. Madison County is a special place. As a "refugee" from Black Mountain, the move has brought me back to the place where the lack of sophistication and what I call "up scales" has been a blessed relief. I have found my home. Thank you, Kathy for you and Country Places. I think you are in a class of your own. VP Holmes
Dear Kathy, I want to write a note of thanks to you, Country Places Realty for living up to my high expectations. High expectations based on the regard mutual friends have for you and the services you provided for them when it came time to buy or sell a house. Your knowledge of the area, in this case Madison County, the people and who to suggest for further help has been a tremendous help to me. The time thought and energy you gave me as a first time home buyer has been not only a validation of the reputation you have earned as a fine real estate agent but as someone who wants to make sure that the chosen place will be a good fit and good decision for the buyer. Your thoughtfulness and care has been a gift to me and to my family. Thank you for making this an event we will all remember. Long live Country Places Realty! All the best to you!
Kathy Hendricks was a long - distance blessing to me! I live in Maine and had a cabin in beautiful Madison County. Kathy took care of everything as I went through the process of selling my property -- from driving the mountain road in all kinds of weather to walking through the sucker brush to show property lines, she is a true gem. If you want someone to help you buy or sell property around western North Carolina, she's the one to go to. She's lived there all her life and knows the people and places ~ Applause, applause for Kathy's service!
Kathy Hendricks knows Madison County. Not only the properties, but the people, the neighborhoods, the history and the future development plans for the area. Kathy is not the kind of professional who is only friendly when she is working for you. We first asked for her help when we were looking for land. After an extensive search and a lot of Kathy's time, we realized we weren't ready. Two years passed, and we kept in touch with Kathy. She helped our children's 4-H club raise money by introducing us to local musicians. She knows everybody! When we finally decided to sell our house, we did not hesitate to call her. Kathy, it was always a comfort knowing you and your expertise was working for us....
Kathy Hendricks and Country Places Realty helped us find the place (and not just the house) we were looking for. In Kathy, we found a partner we trusted, her common sense approach to business dealings, her deep knowledge of Madison County, and her love for its people and places (and let's not forget its music) led us quickly to the conclusion that we had not only found our realtor, but also met our first friend and neighbor in Madison County.

Kathy is a candid, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and patient realtor. She and Clowie were very attentive and took the time to get to know me personally. They didn't just suggest properties that met my requirements for numbers of rooms or acres. They helped me meet neighbors and get to know the area so that, in addition to buying a house, I found the right community. Working with Country Places, I felt like I had an advocate and a great source of information, about everything from repairmen to local history. Rose Marshall, NC
I was drawn to Madison County for its beauty and hoped to find the right place there to call home. Kathy Hendricks helped make my dream a reality. She took the time to show me many listings and made me feel like I was her only client. Kathy understood my wants and budget and brought me to the perfect spot. Her casual manner put me at ease. Kathy shared her knowledge of the area as we drove around and answered questions even after the closing. Country Places Realty cares about their client, and I was very impressed that they also care for the precious land which we live upon here in Western North Carolina.
Kathy Hendricks has helped us find and buy two homes. She really knows the area, the people, and the community, understood what we were looking for, and knew how to find it. It's very refreshing to meet someone in the real estate business who cares about larger issues and quality of life, who isn't just interested in personal profit but in the long-term impacts of development and growth on the environment and community. Susan
My home sold quickly and brought a much higher price than I expected. The agent was very helpful and knowledgeable. She made the whole process painless for me. Kathy Alexander
We really appreciate all of the time you took driving us around looking at property. Thanks so much! We're happily settled in Weaverville and love our new place. Thanks again! Jenny & Matt Alexander
I would like to share my experience with Country Places Realty. I live out of state, south of Atlanta, GA. Not knowing the area well in Marshall, I looked up real estate agents through the internet. I e-mailed several agents stating that I had 11.2 acres of mountain property that I was very interested in selling and would like feedback on what the property in that area was selling for. Kathy Hendricks called me immediately and after walking with her (herself doing a lot of research on her end) I quickly listed the property with Country Places Realty. The property was listed in local books and on her website. Kathy was very professional and went out of her way in helping me with obtaining a local surveyor there, and having the property surveyed. Again, she took the time to have the survey recorded for me. After a year of hard work, Kathy obtained a contract on the property. I never had to step foot into her office. Everything was handled over the phone and through the mail. A local attorney handled the closing in my behalf, and it went very smoothly.
Being from out-of-town, I was very impressed on how professionally this sale was carried out and the manner in which Country Places Realty participated in the transaction. I would highly recommend Country places in listing your home or property that you may wish to sell. I am sure you will be another satisfied customer of Country Places Realty.

After seeing the small farm Country Places showed me, I just knew it was the home for me. They just seemed to have an intuition about what was right for me. I think it's their years of experience in and around Madison County and just knowing people. Cathy H.
From Michelle Funk: Suntrust Bank I am just writing to thank you for participating in the recent "Women in Business" section of the Mountain Xpress. I can relate to your philosophy of earth conscious living and hope to someday live "off the grid" as well.
I recently have begun the process of house hunting and can relate to your love of Madison County. I have been living in Walnut for the last four years and notice your signs everywhere.
I look forward to meeting you when my search becomes more formal as I have seen that you do represent many of the homes that have caught my curiosity.
I think that it is wonderful that you represent yourself not only as a woman business owner, but also as successfully living alternatively, respecting the land you love. Having worked in the natural foods business for twelve years, I share much of the same philosophy you reflected in your advertisement.
I know we don't currently have any SunTrust banks in Marshall, but if you ever find yourself with downtown Asheville banking needs, please stop by and visit.
From Melissa I am so grateful for all the help you gave us while we were making this huge transition. We were so lucky we found our home in such a small amount of time
From Vicki Lane Skemp For years I've admired Kathy's knowledge of and appreciation for our special part of the world and I've marveled at the way she always pairs the right people with the right place. When recently we decided to part with a few acres bordering our farm, we knew we could trust Country Places to find the folks who belonged there. Kathy made the whole transaction painless-- she's a credit to her profession and to our county.
